In last month’s blog I have further introduced the concept of Intensive
Home Care Nursing for long- term mechanically ventilated Adults and Children
with Tracheostomy and their Families- and if you have read last month’s
Newsletter, you would have seen the possibilities, opportunities and freedom this
approach of specialist Intensive Home care nursing in peoples home gives the
Customer and their Families, with the result of dramatically improving the
Customers’ and their Family’s Quality Of Life outside of an Intensive Care
environment.
In this month’s blog I want to further introduce the concept of Intensive
Home Care Nursing for long- term ventilated Adults and Children with
Tracheostomy and their Families by looking at other case studies, as well as
looking at a report from a Critical Care Registered Nurse who is working in the
field.
Most of the Case studies are based on my “hands-on” experience in the Home
Intensive Care Nursing environment in Germany, but a couple of the reports are
reports from other Critical Care Nurses working in the field and one Case Study
features a diary of a Lady living at home ventilator dependent with
Tracheostomy. This Lady is receiving 24/7 care from a specialised Intensive
Home Care Nursing service that is exclusively working with Critical Care
Registered Nurses, in order to provide this Lady with Quality Of Life in her own
home, outside of a busy and noisy Intensive Care environment, which would
otherwise be the only alternative for her and her Family.
